Oxfam in Indonesia

Oxfam has been working in Indonesia to contribute towards finding lasting solutions to poverty and suffering in the country since 1957.   Oxfam has been supporting local and national partners in many parts of the country to realise our shared vision to ensure women’s rights to a sustainable livelihood, to be heard and to have access to basic social services, are respected, in particular during shocks or disasters. We are presently implementing a wide range of sustainable development and disaster preparedness initiatives in seven provinces. Our principal Government partner is the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Our Team

Our team is Program Team with the main role is to ensure the program implementation demonstrate impact at scale, is implemented trough a ‘one program’ approach, and meets all agreed upon standards for institutional and social accountability. 

Job Purpose

To represent and coordinate Oxfam’s project development and implementation in line with the Oxfam Indonesia Country Strategy 2015 – 2020 in collaboration with the Country Management Team and line managed by the Head of Program Management.

Essential

At the least five to seven years proven experience in project development and implementation including experience in economic justice, gender justice and humanitarian sector.
At least five years’ proven experience of project management including managing budgets, staff and funding of different projects. This is to include excellent people management skills, with a good understanding of team development and proven financial management skills.
Good understanding of community development issues, with experience of or ability to work directly with local NGOs or communities in one or more of the following issues: value chain development, income generation/ livelihood approaches / gender and of how this may link to Oxfam’s objectives on gender and humanitarian work, as well as in the use of impact assessment to inform project development choices.
Sound knowledge on gender mainstreaming in projects and guide project staff herein. Having Knowledge and experience of promoting gender equity, and an active commitment to promoting the interests of marginalized people in all aspects of Oxfam’s work
Proven ability to work creatively, innovatively and effectively with limited direct supervision.
Proven experience as a team worker and demonstrably co-operative with members of other teams.
High level writing skills to produce quality report.

Desirable

Master degree in a relevant discipline (preferably economics, politics, sociology, humanities) or substantial experience.
Proven analytical skills and ability to think strategically for project design and to implement the approach
Proven evidence of leadership skills including challenging, motivating and developing a team through periods of change.
Ability to work with others to develop vision into strategy and communicating and influencing this to a wider audience
