Summary
Water.org has been growing steadily in Indonesia over the past few years and is now seeking to dramatically accelerate growth. We are therefore seeking a highly skilled and highly motivated Senior Partnership Manager to support our growing portfolio of Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) partnerships in Indonesia. This full-time position will be based in Jakarta with regular travel throughout Indonesia.
The Senior Partnership Manager is responsible for managing and supporting Water.org partnerships and partner institutions in the launch and implementation of financial products to improve people’s access to water and sanitation. The Senior Partnership Manager must be able to lead and manage Partnership Managers and partners in areas including partnership design and implementation, water and sanitation lending, and/or operations. In addition, the Senior Partnership Manager will assist the development and establishment of new procedures, systems and guidelines. He/she will also work closely with other members of the Water.org Global Impact team internationally. It is expected that the Senior Partnership Manager’s duties will focus on managing Water.org’s partnerships with microfinance institutions of all types.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Management and Partner Capacity Building – 45%
Manage and oversee Water.org existing partnerships, working with both Indonesia-based and international staff. Key tasks include, but are not limited to:
Ÿ Manage and supervise implementation of partnerships in collaboration with financial institutions and other partners, including delivery of financing and technical assistance.
• Ensure strong operational and financial performance of partnerships through partner support, monitoring, and technical assistance to address implementation challenges.
• Support the development and delivery of training modules for partner staff and households on topics such as WSS principles,health and hygiene.
• Develop and manage contracts with and provide support to consultants hired to supplement Water.org’s partnerships.
• Develop services and engagement opportunities for partners that have transitioned from active support by Water.org to independent management of their WSS lending.
• Identify ways to develop and strengthen Water.org technical assistance services.
· Manage and provide capacity building to Water.org staff responsible for partnership management.
• Ensure effective and on-time performance by Partnership Managers working within the purview of the Senior Partnership Manager.
• Identify professional development needs for Partnership Managers and conduct internal/external trainings
· Maintain regular and timely communication with Water.org global personnel.
· Coordinate with local government, NGOs, donors,community groups, & other stakeholders.
New Partnership Identification,Design and Development – 25%
Support initiation of new Water.org partnerships. Key tasks include but are not limited to:
· Develop and implement a strategy for scaling Water.org’s adoption services, a new program model aimed at partnerships with sector associations or apex organizations.
· Support identification and certification of new partners, including financial and non-financial institutions and organizations in the microfinance sector.
· Evaluate new partnership proposals for prospective partner organizations.
· Work with partners to determine appropriate program targets and deliverables.
· Guide design of partnership work plans and budgets, ensuring that they are allocating adequate resources and personnel for successful completion of deliverables.
· Contribute to development of new partnership models and innovative approaches to building partner capacity. Support development of new WSS loan products, such as loans to urban and rural water utilities.
· Assist partners in designing appropriate internal monitoring and evaluation protocols.
Partnership Monitoring and Data Management – 15%
Review data and partner reporting to ensure that each partnership is accountable and meeting expected targets. Key tasks include but are not limited to:
· Conduct and supervise regular communication with partners; track and report information related to program implementation including partner activities, expenditures, and lending.
· Be accountable for target achievement and financial management of donor-sponsored initiatives, provide donor relationship support, and manage donor-related reporting.
· Ensure partner submission of high-quality program reporting and effective transfer of information to Water.org databases, colleagues (in-country and international),and donors.
· Maintain regular contact with Water.org personnel, both in-country and international, to evaluate partnerships and report issues affecting achievement of partnership deliverables.
Organizational Contribution and Supervision – 15%
· Participate in cross-functional working groups in support of organizational goals.
· Assist in the development of new tools, processes and/or procedures.
· Serve as acknowledge resource for Water.org and represent Water.org at sector events and in written publications to advance the organization’s mission and vision.
· In supportof Water.org’s goal to strengthen our performance and talent managementpractices as measured through our OHI Talent Development score, the Senior PartnershipManager will attend HR-provided career conversation and coaching training, aswell as complete annual career conversations for her/his direct reports withinthe deadlines specified by Water.org.

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
· At least ten years of relevant experience with a financial or microfinance institution, water and sanitation organization, international development organization, or related business,agency or institution.
· At least six years of relevant experience leading and managing a dedicated team.
· Demonstrated understanding of and familiarity with SME lending and/or microfinance,financial services, cooperative development, lending methodologies and sector trends.
· Experience with microfinance operations and loan product development will be prioritized.
· Familiarity with basic concepts in water supply, sanitation and hygiene.
· Proven track record of proactively identifying challenges and developing innovative solutions.
· Strong desire to contribute to increased access to water and sanitation for low-income households.
Salary & Benefits
This is two-year contract position, with a possibility of extension for the right candidate. This position offers competitive full-time benefits, including medical/dental insurance. Salary is competitive with similar positions in the international development sector and is based on education and experience.
