Lowongan Technical Officer - Advocacy

Yayasan KNCV Indonesia is a non-profit organisation that aims to be a strong local and self-sustaining organization dedicated to the fight against tuberculosis (TB) in Indonesia. Yayasan KNCV Indonesia promotes effective, efficient, innovative and sustainable tuberculosis control strategies in Indonesia.  We are an organization of passionate TB professionals, including doctors, researchers, training experts, and epidemiologists. We aim to stop the spread of the TB epidemic and to prevent the further spread of drug-resistant TB.

Currently Yayasan KNCV Indonesia is looking for a:

Technical Officer - Advocacy
Duty Station : Jakarta

The Technical Officer – Advocacy will be responsible to develop advocacy strategy which support the achievement of program objectives.

S/he also have to ensure that well informed advocacy is conducted to raise issues of concern whilst providing support to District Offices in conducting more localised advocacy activities.

Key Responsibilities include:

Develop a coherent in country advocacy strategy and coordinating activities
Assist the programme and management teams in the regular monitoring and analysis of the relevant developments and their impact on issues that YKI is working.
Provide advocacy to the NTP and other relevant stakeholders in strengthening human resource development, strategy and planning at district level.
Work closely with Media and Communications Officer, establish relationships with Indonesia based media and communications counterparts.
Develop lobbying and policy positions as relevant to our core programming interests.
Represent YKI in key policy and information coordination as needed to support our core programmatic objectives
Submit periodical progress reports and field visit report in accordance with YKI guidelines to the Technical Services Manager.
Participate in the regular coordination meetings with NTP and other Partners.
Attend provincial, regional, national or international meetings of the NTP’s when invited and after consultation with the Project Director and Technical Services Manager.

Qualifications and Competencies: 

Educational Qualification:
Bachelor Degree in Public health, Program Management, Health Policy, Communication or Management preferably has Master degree on related subject.
Competencies:
Substantial knowledge, skills and experience in advocacy on issues for social/behaviour change.
High level of creativity, flexibility, ability to listen and support. To also be sensitive and responsive to any given context.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesian – both written and verbal;
Good understanding of messaging and public positioning and how to adapt this to the needs of local context.
Knowledge of political, media and NGO coordination mechanisms.
Strong interpersonal skills, in particular, patience, diplomacy, discretion and tact showing good judgement.
Strong abilities in communication:  listening and questioning skills, creative thinking and problem solving.
Experience of dealing with resistance:  skills in assertiveness, identifying and overcoming resistance, persuasion and negotiation
