Lowongan GIZ Indonesia for the ASEAN-German Energy Programme (AGEP) II: Internship

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German public-benefit federal enterprise. GIZ works worldwide in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development and has over 50 years of experience in a wide variety of areas, including RE and EE in ASEAN. The cooperation between ASEAN and Germany focusses in the fields of climate change and environment, regional economic integration as well as institutional capacity development.
In the energy sector, GIZ supports the introduction and deployment of renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) in the partner region through methodological approach, technical and financial competence and enable partner organizations to move towards a sustainable energy supply using their own potential.
The ASEAN-German Energy Programme (AGEP) II is commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in close cooperation with the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE). AGEP II is based at ACE office in Jakarta and the overall objective of the AGEP II is to strengthen ACE in its role as a regional centre of excellence for sustainable energy through various measures such as:
1. Supports ACE to provide innovative services to promote sustainable energy
2. Improves collection and digital processing of socio-economic and energy-specific data
3. Implements activities related to ACE organisational development

GIZ is seeking one qualified Indonesian candidate for the following position:

Internship

A. Responsibilities
Intern shall support in the preparation and implementation of AGEP II project activities in coordination with Advisors and the project partner (ACE and AMS), such as:
• Activity A.1 – Develop The 6th ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO6)
• Activity A.2 – Develop Nodal Network Framework on RE (R&D)
• Acticity A.3 – Develop Regional Workshop on EE Financing, Insurance and Guarantee
• Activity B.1 – Develop Internal Guideline and Competencies on Data Processing
• Activity B.2 – Develop External Statistical Guideline and Competencies on Energy Pricing
• Acticity C.1 – Develop Business Plan for ACE
• Activity C.2 – Conduct ACE Capacity Building

Tasks
The following tasks provide a framework and can be adjusted during the internship:
1. Professional Advising and Consulting on national level
• Under Activity A.1, the intern shall intensely support the AEO6 development including but not limited to data collection, input, processing and analysis, in close coordination with Advisors and AEO6 modelling team.
• Under the direct supervision of the Communications and PR Advisor, the intern shall assist communications and PR related activities of AGEP II including but not limited to: website, newsletter & social media content management, media relations and public diplomacy.

2. Knowledge management
• Intern shall support the data and knowledge management of AGEP II activities, mainly for the AEO6 activity.

3. General Obligations
• Under the AGEP II activities, some workshops, trainings, study trips, and other events are scheduled to be held over the next months. The intern shall support the AGEP team in preparing working documents for the events (if any) and participate in the planning and organization process of the events as assigned by the advisors;
• The intern shall assist the team in performing administrative duties and other tasks as assigned by the AGEP II team.

In addition to the above, the project may assign new/additional tasks based on the future activities foreseen and ongoing developments in the project.

Required qualifications and competences
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering, economics, international relations, RE technology, EE&C technology or other relevant field;
• Basic knowledge on ASEAN, its activities and cooperation;
• Basic knowledge and familiarity on RE and EE&C technology;

Professional experiences
• Experience in working on data in ASEAN environment is highly desirable.

Other knowledge, additional competences
• Good communication and information management skills;
• Excellent command of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word);
• Good organizational skills;
• Proficiency in English and very good writing skills;
• Ability to work in a team and to adapt to an international working environment.

Working Hours: 5 working days per week, 8 working hours per day
