Openings at Yayasan Konservasi Alam Nusantara (YKAN): MERA Program Officer & Remote Sensing Officer

We currently have several openings for:


MERA PROGRAM OFFICER


The MERA Program Officer helps coordinate the implementation of mangrove conservation activities, with a focus on all MERA Project Sites. S /He will also provide limited support for other mangrove site-based projects.


Guided by MERA Program Manager when needed, MERA Program Officer support the preparation of MERA Proposal, Program implementation and preparation of program reports on a regular basis. At the program implementation, S/He can also monitor progress and propose work plan adaptations to the supervisor if necessary.


The MERA Program Officer is responsible for coordinating the data compilation, collection, and preparation of program reports related to the implementation of the MERA Program. S/He is responsible for the efficient workplan implementation to develop the scheme and program implementation at the MERA location.


The MERA Program Officer supports the development of reports for the implementation of conservation and management teams and assists in the preparation of proposals. S/He can also present the MERA Program to visit donors and partners.


The MERA Program Officer will be supervised by MERA Program Manager. S/He will be based at the Jakarta office with frequent trips to MERA Program site and other YKAN sites.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in forestry, ecology, natural resources management or related field and 2 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
Ability to manage multiple priorities, with assignments that might come from several sources and can work independently
Experience handling standard business communications
Experience in reviewing and administering contracts and/or agreements

REMOTE SENSING OFFICER


The Remote Sensing Officer manages and maintains IOP spatial databases and provides technical support in remote sensing analysis or other relational database technologies to Conservancy staff.


S/he works closely with the Indonesia Oceans Program staff to provide technical support to TNC Indonesia Oceans Program related to GIS, remote sensing analysis, conservation and marine planning works. i.e. field survey, gather, digitize, process, analyze, produces, manages, and maintains remote sensing data and information (make attribute table, layout maps, geodatabase, interpolation and associated reports); etc.


The Remote Sensing Officer will be based in Jakarta office with frequent travel to TNC IOP sites.  S/he will report to the IOP Spatial Planning Manager.


Qualifications:

BA/BS or Associates degree in related field and 2 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience managing, maintaining and populating databases and manual files
Experience with producing maps and/or other graphic products and reports and operating GIS software
Experience analyzing, building, populating and producing reports from databases
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and web browsers
