As girls-centered organization that strongly supports child and youth participation, Yayasan Plan International Indonesia wants to ensure that young people are empowered to take actions and stand up as active citizens. In Indonesia Plan International started its work in 1969 and currently works in 7 provinces and sponsors more than 40,000 children. Plan Indonesia has developed a comprehensive approach through the existing programs in YEE (Youth Economic Empowerment). A strong partnership has been established and there is collaboration with the government to adopt a Planet-based TVET (Technical and Vocational Education Training) approach and soft skill training. Some training packages for soft skill and TVET, including gender-focused life-skills, TVET restaurant, retail TVET, career counselling, and green skill have also been developed.

It is fundamental for Yayasan Plan International Indonesia to have young people, particularly girls and women to participate and be recruited in the process and have a say about Plan’s working and project, so that Plan’s work will be more relevant in addressing their needs. Therefore, the Tools and Strategy module of Youth Recruitment will be the benchmark and guideline to work with young people and recruit them to be our beneficiaries in all of projects under YEE Program and at the end of the time, we can still manage the relationship with these young people even after the project already finish.
