Country Purpose:

Islamic Relief Worldwide in Indonesia was operation since 2003 following the  MOU signing with the Ministry of Home Affairs. The objective of IRW in Indonesia programme is to contribute to the social welfare of the Indonesia people and to alleviate the suffering. The main sector for the programme include:


·       Water and Sanitation

·       Sustainable livelihood

·       Education

·       Child Welfare

·       Shelter

·       Disaster Risk Reduction

 

The geographical area are Banten, NTB, Aceh and Central Sulawesi province directly implementing or through partners.

 

Islamic Relief Worldwide in Indonesia is looking to recruit a MEAL Officer, based in Jakarta

 

ACCOUNTABILITY and REPORTING LINE:

To work under the supervision of Head of Programme and collaborative support to MEAL function within organization.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·       Assist Country Director and Head of Programme with monthly tracking of performance of projects in the fields area and update tracking system ONTRACT.

·       Assist Head of Programme and other MEAL function in Islamic Relief to develop MEAL Framework including design and analysis for program quality. 

·       Ensure that all programmes and projects are continually monitored for their relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and appropriateness and that lessons are documented and communicated to inform on going implementation and future programming

·       Conduct CHS self-assessment of IR Indonesia and its local partners to assess programme and MEAL capacity.

·       Seek opportunities for information sharing and learning exchanges with local actors/INGOs to promote coordination at local, provincial and national level.

·       Support the team in developing robust and high quality donor reporting

·       Undertake monitoring/evaluation visit to all IR project sites to assess both programme performance and for compliance to CHS at community and front-line staffing and partner level. Ensure a report and action plan is produced.

·       Actively participate in the IRW MEAL CoP platform on Chatter and ensure local/national MEAL staff are also participating.

·       Compile a centralized comprehensive CHS evidence library – both hard copy and soft copies – organized under each of the 9 CHS Commitment Areas

·       Provide support to Head of Programme with any additional duties requested. 

 
KEY COMPETENCIES

Experience/Education:

·       Relevant education back ground in social development or management

·       Three years minimum experience in relevant field, experience in INGO is a plus. 

·       Proven self-management skill and capacity to work under pressure

·       Computer literate with fluency of using Microsoft Word, Excel, internet and email packages, statistical and survey tools (i.e SPSS, KoBo collect, Epicollect, etc)

·       Experience of communicating and representation with a range of people, organizations and cultures, Problem solving from different angles, allowing for an integral vision of situations.

Skills

·       Self-starter who is able to work collaboratively across functional areas to achieve organization and personal performance objectives.

·       Demonstrated ability to conduct/oversee evaluations, reviews, assessments, etc.

·       Experience in the evaluation of development projects using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods.

·       Able to write report in English with minimum revision/edit

·       Flexible in communication with team and problem solving attitude

·       Knowledge and practical understanding of and ability to work within both relief and development NGO contexts.
