[Internship Program Notice] GIZ Indonesia for Global Programme Migration & Diaspora (PMD) project: Internship

The Global Programme Migration & Diaspora (PMD) was commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in 07/2019. It is run under the umbrella of the Center for International Migration and Development, which is jointly implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the International and Specialized Services (ZAV) of the German Federal Employment Agency (BA).

The programme´s module objective is: Key actors in the partner countries increasingly leverage regular migration and diaspora engagement to attain their development goals. 

The programme is to be rolled out in up to 25 partner countries. The focus is on the countries of origin of the major groups of migrants in Germany and on partner countries of BMZ´s Returning and New Opportunities Programme. Furthermore, the programme will also include countries of relevance to development-oriented skilled worker migration, migration policy advice, development-oriented return and diaspora cooperation, thus ensuring a good 'migration policy mix'. The programme operates in five fields of action:


1.   Development-oriented return

2.   Regular Migration/Migration Advice

3.   Social engagement of diasporas

4.   Financial and economic contribution of diasporas

5.   Migration governance               


The GIZ Office Indonesia is seeking one qualified Indonesian candidate for the following position: 

Internship 

A.    Responsibilities

As an intern, the incumbent will be responsible in providing technical and administrative inputs in PMD implementation in Indonesia. Together with Programme Admin Officer and Coordinators, the intern will be responsible to assist PMD Team in:


1.    Providing technical assistance in event management, including preparation and administration.


2.    Assisting PMD Coordinator (RF & DF) in conducting Employer Survey, compiling Workplace Equipment progress, and additional tasks


3.    Assisting PMD Coordinators in following-up administrations procedures


4.    Assisting PMD Coordinators in creating contents for future PMD Websites and social medias

B.     Tasks 

As an intern, it is expected that the incumbent will perform:

·         Supports on coordination between the PMD and GIZ Country Office of Indonesia (COI) in term of the process of the project procurement and contract;


·         Supports on coordination between the PMD and GIZ Country Office of Indonesia (COI) in term of the process of financial payments for consultants, resource person, etc;


·         Supports on coordination between PMD Coordinator and its Partner Institution in conducting Employer Survey, both online or offline survey;


·         Supports on coordination between PMD Coordinator and its Program Participants in conducting services agreed by the Handbook of Programme Implementation, including but not limited to workplace equipment support, training support, etc;


·         Conducting desk research, studies, and interview regarding PMD alumni profile, activities, and perceived impacts to the communities;


·         Assisting PMD Coordinator and/or PMD Admin in implementing PMD networking activities, both online and offline. 

C.    Required qualifications and competences 

Qualification

Final year student/undergraduate degree in Economics/Business, Social Science, Development Studies, Foreign Affair, or other related academic fields.

 

Other knowledge and additional competences

Excellent command of MS-Office;

Excellent English and Bahasa Indonesia skills;

Good working knowledge of modern telecommunication systems;

Excellent communication and networking skills;

The internship is available for college or university student or graduated not longer than one year after graduation from a college or university

Duty Station: Jakarta

Working Hours: 5 working days per week, 8 working hours per day

Duration: 6 months
