Open vacancy ; Emergency Response Roster

Throughout our 60-year legacy, Project HOPE has treated millions of patients and provided more than $3 billion worth of medicines to local health care organizations around the world. We have helped build hundreds of health programs from the ground up and responded to humanitarian crises worldwide.

Yayasan Project HOPE has been known in Indonesia since 1960 when the hospital ship USS HOPE visited Indonesia as part of its visit to several countries for humanitarian operations. Currently Yayasan Project HOPE itself has several programs such as Infection Prevention and Control training in the context of controlling the COVID-19 pandemic for health care workers throughout Indonesia and has reached more than 18,000 participants, in collaboration with several hospitals in Indonesia to monitor their readiness in Infection and prevention control, then other programs such as reducing the risk of maternal and child mortality at birth, a laboratory strengthening program, a global health security program, mental health and establishing of an emergency response hub to strengthen emergency response operating systems in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

Project HOPE’s is seeking consultant who would like to join our Emergency Response Roster.  Once candidates have completed the pre-deployment requirements they would be on standby to deploy to a crisis within 72 hours, whether they are launching into new disaster areas or lending support to Project HOPE’s teams already on the ground. The area of operation itself is domestic response in Indonesia and / or Southeast Asia, considering that Jakarta is the HOPE Project Emergency Response Hub center for Southeast Asia.

Position Overview:

Project HOPE is seeking a consultant to be part of the Emergency Response Roster The primary responsibility of the consultant will be determined according to the educational background, occupation and the results of the interview.

Responsibilities:


·     Carry out emergency response activities in accordance with predetermined positions.


·     Build coordination with relevant stakeholders and clusters at disaster sites.


·     Contribute to conducting rapid assessments according to their position.


·     Contribute to the collection of additional information and input for the development of an operational plan.


·     Contribute to the production of reports or develop proposals for organizational needs.


·     Coordinates and direct a team of staff and/or mentor and supervise the work of new/junior officers if need.


·     Performs other related duties as required.

In addition to the responsibilities referenced above, candidate scan expect to be living and working in austere conditions. Lifting moderately heavy objects from the ground, carrying a backpack for extended periods of time, and walking or hiking in remote locations may be necessary to perform these functions.

Qualifications:

Academic degree from any educational backgrounds as follows:


·     Medical Faculty (with additional STR document as evidence)


·     Civil Engineering


·     Water Engineering


·     Psychology


·     Logistics Management


·     Management


·     Economy


Experience


·     Experience (minimum 1 major scale disaster or 3 minor scale disaster) in humanitarian operation / emergency response.


·     Experience with working with partners, stakeholders or community.


·     Preferably those who have experience working with non-governmental organizations.


·     Committed to work and develop skills.


·     Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with analytic approach


·     Strong interpersonal and management skills.


·     Ability to work in harsh conditions, often in remote areas


·     Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (minimum requirements)


·     FLUENCY IN ENGLISH IS ESSENTIAL

·     Project HOPE employees work in the global health field and may be required to travel or work in countries where working conditions are classified as “hardship”.

·     Typical office environment with exposure to a minimal noise level.
