 Yayasan Humanis dan Inovasi Sosial or Humanist and Social Innovation Foundation is an affiliated organization of Hivos. Currently we are looking for a candidate to fill this position:

Aim of the job
The PDM GEDI is the head of Humanist and Social Innovation Foundation’s GEDI team for Southeast Asia.
Drawing from an expert understanding of organizational values, its GEDI strategy, and Foundation’s strategic plan for the GEDI team, s/he creates new projects and programs that address persistent challenges in regional (SEA) and national level. S/he identifies and builds a network of key stakeholders from government, international organizations, civil society and the private sector, and works with them to co- create solutions.
S/he builds donor relationships and identifies funding opportunities. A successful incumbent of the role will build a diverse portfolio of innovative, high-quality projects with strong stakeholder buy-in; achieve Foundation funding targets and contributes towards sustainability; and contribute to the development of foundation’s reputation as a thought and innovation leader on the theme of GEDI
S/he organizes internal processes for idea co-creation within the team, as well as in collaboration with the teams of other foundation’s themes. The position is responsible for translating these ideas into viable solutions, and securing funding opportunities for the resulting projects.
This position also oversees/coordinates the Project Managers for their individual projects under GEDI cluster to ensure relevance with Humanist and Social Innovation Foundation’s overall goals.

Functional context
The PDM GEDI leads GEDI team and is responsible for management of the team members, including the annual performance review cycle.
The PDM GEDI coordinates GEDI Cluster. Final management responsibility for the GEDI cluster rests with the Executive Director, however PDM is tasked with ensuring communication and information exchange within, and between other clusters: Freedom and Dignity, Climate Justice.
The PDM GEDI works closely with the finance team on the design of project budgets and the ongoing financial management of major projects, and with the Design, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (DME&L) position on project design and the planning and initialisation project phases. S/he is a member of Foundation Management Team, and works closely with the leads of other Humanist and Social Innovation Foundation’s themes on strategic direction and foundation’s overall financial resilience.



Roles and responsibilities
A. Programme Development
1. To scan, identify and create new projects and programmes, in line with foundation’s strategy and profile and in order to achieve the objective of the Humanist and Social Innovation Foundation’s strategic plan.

B. Fundraising/ Business Development
1. To develop strategic and long term sustainability portfolio for Humanist and Social Innovation Foundation, as well as smart business models and fundraising.
2. To identify and access funding sources for the program and together with programme staff, to develop and implement fundraising strategy to support a successful implementation of the program.
3. To provide input and contribute program highlights for funding proposals, communication materials etc. for stakeholders and audience
4. To take lead on fundraising initiative in close coordination with programme and finance departments.

C. Managing portfolio
1. To develop business plans, facilitate market research and lead prototyping activities.
2. To directly manage operational programmes
3. To manage the GEDI portfolio, which includes processing funding requests, preparing all of necessary documents and administrative handlings partners  

D. Planning, report-writing and project coordinating
1. To coordinate planning and report-writing of the GEDI cluster which is in line with Foundation’s strategy.
2. To coordinate projects implementation for the GEDI cluster, ensuring consistency knowledge exchange among staff.

E. Representing the organization
1. To be able to connect to frontrunners and (potential) game changers and to work together with them to develop innovative programmes.
2. To present Foundation’ vision on GEDI in an attractive and leading way during conferences and seminars.

F. Coordinating GEDI Team
1. To provide input to the financial planning, budgeting, performance, capacity development and risks management of projects.
2. To contribute and support to the other possible expansion and thematic programs which aims to the improvement of the organization.
3. To contribute to overall organizational and policy development.
4. To be a reliable and supportive team member to the whole team.


Knowledge, experiences and competencies
An advanced degree in a relevant field (social science) at University level.
At least ten years of working experience in the field of development, gender equality, women empowerment, social inclusion, human rights and civic space
A strong affinity for Humanist and Social Innovation Foundation’s mission and for social and environmental concerns and you are driven by a strong motivation to contribute to real and lasting change.
Able to ‘think outside the box’ and connect to various actors to develop new solutions that have the ability to transform Humanist and Social Innovation Foundation strategic program.
Have a convincing track-record in program development, resource mobilization and facilitating of multi- actor initiatives.
Experience with developing smart business models is also an asset.
Excellent – externally oriented – communication skills, both verbally and in writing in English.
