About the role

Cardno ID currently has an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven and analytical Project Accountant to join our International Development Assistance (IDA) business in Jakarta.  This is a 12 months’ contract with the opportunity to go permanent.  The selected incumbent will have skills in bringing oversight, structure and financial governance to project, and will work within a team.  Reporting to the Project Accounting Manager, this role will support the financial management of a selection of IDA programs and focus on providing oversight, structure and financial governance to these projects.   

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

·        Ensuring that Cardno and its portfolio of programs adhere to contractual financial arrangements with our clients

·        Management of compliance of project finance related activities in line with relevant Accounting Standards

·        Leading the development of budgets, oversight of expenditure, and reporting on progress and completion of projects

·    Project financial management including reconciliation of monthly accounts, ensuring accurate revenue recognition of projects, invoicing, cash flow management & reporting, and preparation of monthly expenditure and variance analysis reports

·        Ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place for projects including auditing and training of in-country finance representatives

·        Playing a key role in the set-up of projects to ensure adequate policies and procedures are in place from both a Cardno and client perspective

·        Building meaningful relationships with Consultants/Senior Consultant, Project Managers, and the wider Asia Pacific Finance team 

·       The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in Financial Accounting and will have proven skills in managing a junior team.

·        You will have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to meet deadlines, strive in a fast-paced environment and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

·        Other duties as required

About you:

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in a similar role and will have proven skills in a related services industry. You will have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to meet deadlines and strong stakeholder engagement skills

Your experience and selection criteria should also include:

·        Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and/or Commerce coupled with CA/CPA qualifications (or studying towards)

·        Demonstrated experience in a similar Project Accounting environment

·        Intermediate and Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)

·        Relevant industry experience is advantageous as is any experience working on international projects

·        Demonstrated ability to take ownership and financial management of complex programs

·        Proven strong analytical ability with an emphasis on providing insight and recommendations using financial information

·        Excellent communication skills to liaise with both financial and non-financial audiences (in geographically challenging locations)

·        A resilient attitude that is adept to competing priorities and working within an environment of change
