Project Officer Child Health Advocacy

1 (One) position based in Jakarta

ROLE PURPOSE:

Yayasan Tunas Cilik- Member of Save the Children will implement Child Health Advocacy project  to support Government of Indonesia in addressing challenges for child survival and childhood illnesses including Pneumonia. The project will work with partners in West Java province, which has close to national level of pneumonia prevalence, sufficient domestic resources commitment and requires a social accountability-governance model. The project will also work in  NTT province, one of the areas with highest prevalence of pneumonia and will support overall program implementation of Child Survival, aligning with the national policies and program. 

Through close coordination with the local government and all stakeholders, the project will aim for:

Strengthened district government accountability mechanisms, ensuring improved expenditure of resources for every last child, strengthened health system to protect, prevent and treat common childhood illnesses including Pneumonia in West Java province
Strengthened district implementation model of prevent, protect and treatment dimensions with specific focus on improving access to health services for hard to reach area of NTT province
CSOs and partnerships Strengthened – accountability and monitoring processes with sustained engagement of coalitions/ CSOs on national health (RMNCH, Immunisation, PHC, Gavi) and nutrition policies
The Project Officer will provide essential support to project implementation, working with the Project Manager and other team members to achieve project success, which include administrative, operations and coordination / liaise with external stakeholders and internal support teams.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree in social sciences, social development, development studies, or other relevant studies.
Recommended minimum of 2 years of working experience or management experience in a contractor, corporate, or NGO environment, including significant field implementation experience.
Has understanding of Advocacy and campaign work of process.
Has working experience with advocacy and campaign activity is a plus.
Has experience working with an international NGO or similar organization.
Has basic knowledge on project management skills with a proven history of delivering results.
Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Fluency in written and spoken Indonesian, strong English written and spoken skills are preferred.

To this end, SC Indonesia has been designated as a “Prospect Member”. As ‘Prospect Member’ Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way of new member development, which focuses on strengthening and localizing our voice for children in strategic middle-income countries. Indonesia has been authorized by member ballot to start fundraising locally as a first step towards building a financially sustainable local organization. Future work will also involve developing a strong local governance structure and building key partnerships with local government, the private sector, local civil society among others. Success of the pilot phase will set the Indonesia on a pathway to full membership
