Overview

Yayasan Ekosistim Nusantara Berkelanjutan (EcoNusa Foundation) is a nonprofit organization aiming to boost up various local initiatives of Tanah Papua at national and international levels in a bid to provide support to a sustainable and equal management of natural resources in Indonesia.

EcoNusa Foundation founded on July 21, 2017 In Jakarta. EcoNusa encourages the development and capacity building of civil society organizations to perform advocacy, campaign, communication, stakeholder engagement and dialogue among stakeholders to meet natural resources management in a sustainable manner while promoting equality, conservation and transparent values. To achieve its mission, EcoNusa conducts several programs under four main themes: Local Community Resilience, Policy Advocacy, the Eastern Indonesia Communication Hub, and Local Economy Development.

DEFINITION OF JOB

The Content Development Senior Officer reports to the Communications Manager and works closely with Digital Manager, is a member of the organization’s team, and is responsible for teamwork and support communications programs. We are looking for an accomplished writer adaptable to a variety of writing development and assignments. The successful candidate will understand the prerequisites of developing quality, white-hat, inbound, SEO-focused content and how to use it effectively in writing landing pages, blogs and other web pages. The successful candidate will also stay up-to-date with the latest best practices and can explain SEO’s special formatting requirements (if needed), its specific text placement in online content and the selection of keywords/phrases in terms that non-web-savvy staff members can understand.


The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsible for development, writing, integration, inter- and intra-departmental coordination and deployment of social-media and web-focused content across all platforms based on strategic initiatives and content efforts developed by Directorate of Communications.
  

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work directly with Communications Manager and Digital Manager division to coordinate and integrate content developed for the web, print, initiatives and public relations.

• Write social-media style content and engage readers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, YouTube and any other social-media platforms, as needed, based on stories, blogs, videos and slideshows produced for web, print and mobile.

• Write web copy, as needed, for feature articles, as well as corporate messaging.

• Coordinate with Digital on a social-media content calendar that relates to the comprehensive Creative Department content calendar and editorial meetings.

• Keep abreast of social-media trends and provide strategic direction to the organization related to such.

• Fulfill additional writing assignments as needed for appeals, videos/slide shows, organization’s messaging, feature articles and more.

Development and Organizational


·         Contribute to long-term planning with management team and board to increase impact.

·         Prepare reports for donors.

·         Manage contacts database.

·         Participate in programmatic work and contribute to organizational activities as needed.


Required Qualifications

·         Minimum of 3 years of Content development and writing.

·         Degree in journalism, electronic media or related field

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Know-how in developing SEO-focused content

·         Superior organizational skills

·         Deadline-oriented personality

·         Initiative and ability to work with a variety of projects with minimal supervision

              ·         Ability to think quickly, effectively solve problems and handle multiple projects simultaneously 

·         Experience with PhotoShop preferred

·         Familiarity with NGO works, wildlife management, large-landscape scale conservation and citizen science.

·         Passionate about conservation, wildlife, volunteerism, connecting people to nature.

·         Ability to work independently, set priorities and see projects through to completion.

·         Ability to contribute positively within a collaborative team environment.

·         Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

·         Team Player

·         Flexibility to experiment to attain new, better strategies, approaches, work products and solutions to challenges.

·         Willing to travel to remote areas
