About Indonesia Joining Forces

Indonesia Joining Forces (IJF) is part of the Global Joining Forces Initiative movement that works together to improve the quality of life for children around the world. The Indonesia Joining Forces (IJF) consists of ChildFund International in Indonesia, Plan International Indonesia Foundation, Sayangi Tunas Cilik partner of Save the Children (YSTC), SOS Children's Villages Indonesia, Terre des Hommes (TdH Germany with the Center for the Study and Protection of Children/PKPA), and Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI). These six NGOs agreed to take End Endence Against Children (EVAC) as a name for this movement.

SUMMARY

In the next few years we expect to implement our advocacy strategy and we aim to raise funds for the ending violence in schools project. The incumbent is expected to develop and execute the advocacy strategy, lead in fundraising efforts and act as a project manager for Indonesia Joining Forces which consists of various teams within the six CFA’s (child focused agencies).

THE FOCUS OF THE ROLE

The Indonesia Joining Forces Coordinator will be responsible for the successful implementation of the Joining Forces advocacy plan and fundraising strategy and will play the lead role in coordination, monitoring progress against the objectives, preparing reporting, ensuring effective learning and documentation of outcomes.  

The Indonesia Joining Forces Coordinator will work closely with the technical, advocacy and communications team representatives from each of the six agencies who each will have specific commitments and deliverables related to the coalition under the remit of their agency, ensuring consistency of approach, effective collaboration, communication and coordination between the agencies and with external stakeholders. They will also ensure effective liaison with the wider GPTEVAC Alliance members. Similarly, the Indonesia Joining Forces Coordinator will work with the business development team representatives to work on resource mobilization together.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Advocacy

-        Develop an advocacy strategy (national and sub national) to end violence against children in school in Indonesia, with input and support from the technical and advocacy teams in the 6 CFA’s.

-        Develop and monitor implementation of advocacy activities, including: carrying out relevant assessments, risk mitigation, implementation planning and budgeting.

Fundraising

·     Develop a fundraising strategy with input and support from the business development teams in the 6 CFA’s.Develop competitive project proposals following donor’s project guidelines and parameters in close coordination with program teams and sector specialists to readily respond to CFPs (call for proposals).

Project Quality and Management

·     Take the lead on developing annual plan including implementation plan and budget development.

·     Ensure proper systems are in place for all aspects of advocacy and fundraising project management: reporting, monitoring and documentation

·     Develop communication plan to ensure that internal and external communication is consistent and well-coordinated.

·     Provide communications support including: articles, photographs, regular updates for SitRep, media services, and other communications outreach

·     Design Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Plan and leading the effective monitoring and evaluation of the project in collaboration with the technical team.

 Reporting

·     Submit timely project narrative and financial reports as per project reporting plan.

·     Manage the preparation and submission of reports required by the global initiative liaising with all necessary stakeholders and ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met, are produced to a high standard.

Knowledge Management and Learning

·     Ensure effective document management between the 6 agencies.

·     Ensure the process of learning and evidence generation is documented, analysed and effectively disseminated among all key stakeholders.

Convening, Coordination, Networking, and Representation

·     Ensure regular and efficient coordination and communication with the technical, advocacy, business development team and the Executive Committee, providing appropriate and timely information on the progress and the execution of the project activities.

·     Ensure effective coordination with participating schools.

·     Act as the point of contact and external representative for the the project both in internal and external instances, in Indonesia.

·     Liaise with relevant stakeholders to introduce the project and its objectives in order to influence and build stronger support for the achievement best of sustainable outcome.

·     Coordinate relationship management among  6 INGOs EVAC members.

Other

·     Ensure Child Safeguarding is applied and adhered to by all members of the project team and stakeholders.

·     Undertake general administrative tasks, for example writing reports, maintaining records as and when required.

·     Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

·       Over 5 years’ experience in an advocacy role in development, social services or community organization.

·       Experience in developing competitive grant proposals.

·       Experience working with senior leadership.

·       Demonstrated skills in developing networks with government and non-governmental organizations including civil societies.

·       Demonstrated understanding of the child rights and child focused sector.

·       Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English.

·       Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, social and political issues.

·       Computer proficiency in general office software (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).

·       Experience in budget management of grant funded project.

·       Must be able to travel to project locations and other assigned places.

EDUCATION

Master or higher-level degree in a relevant human services discipline, or humanitarian studies, or equivalent relevant work experience.
