Nutrition International is implementing MITRA Youth, a project supporting Weekly Iron Folic Acid Supplementation (WIFAS) for prevention and reduction of Iron Deficiency Anaemia (IDA) among school-going adolescent girls, in selected districts in two provinces of Indonesia: East Java and East Nusa Tenggara. MITRA Youth is funded by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
The issue of adolescent nutrition cannot be solved by the health sector alone, but it needs support and contributions across programs, across sectors, professional organizations, and all development partners.
National Nutrition Day commemoration in 2021 is an important momentum in raising awareness and increasing commitment from various parties to jointly build nutrition towards an accomplished healthy nation, among others, through balanced nutrition education and supplementation of Blood Supplement Tablets for young women.
By utilizing the momentum of the 61st Nutrition Day, it is hoped that stakeholders including the community and government elements will have a high commitment to participate in improving nutrition and public health status through the commemoration.
National Nutrition Day is celebrated by Public Nutrition Directorate, Ministy of Health, and their stakeholder every year with different theme. This year’s theme is “Remaja Sehat Bebas Anemia” (Healthy Adolescents Free from Anaemia). East Java Province Health Office (PHO) will celebrate and conduct a webinar and requested NI’s support.
Nutrition International would like to support East Java PHO to commemoration the National Nutrition Day by facilitating one webinar. This event is also to promote NI’s programs widely and to strengthen NI branding in Indonesia
