KOMPAK Program

KOMPAK is an Australia-Indonesia government partnership supporting the Government of Indonesia's efforts in reducing poverty through improvements in basic service delivery and creating opportunities for work. KOMPAK focuses its efforts on three result areas:

  1. Supporting Local Governments and Service Units to better address the needs of basic service users;
  2. Supporting the poor and vulnerable to benefit from improved village governance; and
  3. Supporting the poor and vulnerable to benefit from increased opportunities for employment and economic development.

 

The Opportunity

The key purpose of the Communications Specialist is to support the Communications and Knowledge Management Team on the technical functions, especially in implementing the communication strategy and assisting the program delivery team with their communication activities. The Communications Specialist is reporting to Communications and Knowledge Management Lead.

 

Key Duties

  • Support the Communications and Knowledge Management Lead in conducting the communications activities on daily basis
  • Under the supervision of Communications and Knowledge Management Lead, provide communications support for the implementation team in national and sub-national level, as well as the performance team
  • Assist in developing communications materials to support KOMPAK and the advocacy activities which include but not limited to video, video graphics, infographics, flyers, fact sheet, media social content, information kit, booklets and posters
  • Collect and develop success stories from best practices, changes and lessons learned from KOMPAK area
  • Collect photos and videos on the implementation of KOMPAK’s models and approaches from the field
  • Assist in the development of knowledge products by managing the design development, including translation and copy edit, when needed
  • Guard the quality assurance of KOMPAK’s document within the communication’s corridor (writing, design, identity and branding) in all KOMPAK’s knowledge products and communications materials developed and published by KOMPAK
  • Support CKM team to manage events at the national and provincial level

Key Requirements

  • Educational background in Communication or related studies
  • At least 8 years work experience in communication, preferably in international development
  • Having knowledge photography, graphic design, video editing, as well as skills in using editing software will be an advantage
  • Having capability and proven experience in developing communication materials in various format (print, radio, web-based, television, etc.) targeting a variety of audiences
  • Creative, team player and problem solver
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, as well as writing skills
  • Strong experience in working with national and local media
  • Proven ability to multi-task, take initiative and work well under pressure
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with website management and social media platforms is preferred
  • Willing to do some traveling for work if required
  • Fluency in Indonesian language and English
  • Understanding of gender equality and social inclusion issues
