.OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME:

 

WHO is the specialized agency of the United Nations with objectives to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable. The WHO Indonesia Country Office directs and coordinates the authority for health by supporting the Indonesian Government in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of national health policies, strategies and plans, setting norms and standards, improving knowledge dissemination and management, monitoring country health situation and building sustainable institutional capacity. The Country Office continually improves its administrative efficiency in managing financial and human resources in a results-oriented and transparent manner. This is crucial for the organization to deliver appropriate technical assistance to the Government. The objective of the Programme is to deliver WHO core functions at the country level, with particular focus of the Organization's directing and coordinating role for international work. Within this framework, activities include support to the Government in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of national health policies, strategies and plans, and development and management of WHO technical cooperation programmes at the country level.

 

SUMMARY OF ASSIGNED DUTIES:

 

Under the direct supervision of Surveillance Coordinator for Papua and West Papua, Immunization Officer and broad guidance of the Technical Officer – EPI, the incumbent will be based in the assigned districts in Papua and provides supports by performing the following specific duties:

 

  1. Collaborate with technical coordinator and other field technical officers to assist in improving high quality data at Provincial Health Office (PHO)/ District Health Office (DHO) level and provide him/her with good analyzed reports.
  2. Compile collect and data cleaning of VDP Surveillance reports from all districts of Papua and West Papua Province.
  3. Maintain AFP cases line list and weekly analysis of AFP indicators.
  4. Maintain VPD cases line list and routine analysis of its indicators.
  5. Line list of Polio Environmental Surveillance data.
  6. Routine immunization, supplementary immunization data report coverage and VPD surveillance report from all districts and other health units.
  7. Update and maintain database of Routine Immunization (RI), supplementary immunization, School Based Immunization (Bulan Imunisasi Anak Sekolah/BIAS) and AFP cases for weekly and monthly analysis in collaboration with data officer at PHO.
  8. Monitor completeness and timeliness of VPD surveillance and RI reports from each district and follow up as needed and share weekly/ monthly reports to Ministry of Health – Jakarta.
  9. Support in daily, weekly and monthly bulletin to analysis, mapping and high-quality technical bulletin for DHO/ PHO.
  10. Ensure proper safety storage and periodic back up of all data in cloud and hard disk.
  11. Collaborate with PHO, DHO and private sectors for periodic data compilation and validation.
  12. Support Ministry of Health - EPI/Surveillance unit, WHO Team, PHO and other related parties to prepare VPD surveillance related documents as needed.
  13. Collect, compile and analyze COVID-19 data, and maintain COVID-19 database to support the Incident Management System (IMS) team.
  14. In coordination with the Surveillance team lead to engage with related stakeholders and partners in improving data quality and analysis for COVID-19.

Functional Knowledge and Skills:

Understanding of data entry, data analysis and producing reports.


Education Qualifications:


Essential:

Bachelor’s degree in Public health -related subject from a recognized university.


Desirable:

  • A Master’s degree in Public health -related subject from a recognized university
  • Training on data management


Experience:


Essential:

At least three (3) years of professional work experience in data entry and analysis.


Desirable:

  • Five (5) years of relevant experience in the field of public health at national or provincial level.
  • Experience working in the UN or other international development organization
  • Candidates from Papua are strongly encouraged to apply.


Languages:

Expert knowledge of written and spoken English and native language skills in Bahasa Indonesia.


Other Skills (e.g. IT):

Work is performed in a normal working environment.

Computer literacy: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.


Data Assistant, SSA, Level 4. In accordance with WHO Salary Scale for SSA support function at Level 4 (From IDR 12,566,600 to 19,547,933 per month). Duty Station: Jayapura / Papua Office.
