Background

 

Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international medical and humanitarian, non-profit organization acting in accordance with the principles of humanitarian assistance, impartiality, neutrality, medical ethics and medical confidentiality, independent from any political, religious, military or economic authority.

 

In compliance with MSF’s charter and based on an independent assessment of needs, MSF provides medical and humanitarian assistance to populations in distress without discrimination on the basis of ethnical affiliation, religion, gender or political convictions, in the contexts of epidemics, endemic diseases, natural disasters and conflicts. Main Purpose

 

In close collaboration with the Mission Coordination Team defining the operational strategy for the project during the intermediate expansion process and future phasing out of the Adolescent Health program. This in accordance with the MSF strategy for Banten and the MoU with the MoH. The project coordinator will be responsible for MSF’s operational response and capacity building activities in the project and coordinating MSF’s program execution and identifying the population’s health needs and the humanitarian issues at

stake. Ensuring compliance to MSF’s charter, ethical standards and policies in order to realize organiza- tional objectives and improve the target population’s health conditions and humanitarian situation.

 

Accountabilities

 

          In close collaboration with the Country Director, representing MSF and defending its interests before local, district and provincial authorities and other authorities, local NGO’s and communities. Raising awareness in the target population about the existence of MSF's programs.

          Being responsible for the entire project team to work as “one team” meaning ensuring close cooperation and communication between departments, roles and responsibilities, fostering an inclusive working environment

          Being accountable for and supervising the execution of project programs, including emergency response sup- port activities. Ensuring that the MSFs technical and ethical standards are followed, and objectives are achieved.

          Being responsible for the proper application of HR policies and associated processes in the project (recruit- ment, briefing/debriefing, evaluation, staff learning and development and internal communication) to ensure both the sizing of the team and the amount of knowledge required for the project activities. Briefing the teams on context related issues. Ensuring the associative character of MSF is reflected in the briefing of all MSF

staff, maximizing their commitment to MSF values and project’s goals


 

 

 

Requirements

 

Nationality

 

For Indonesian Nationality Only

 

Education

 

University degree or paramedical diploma desirable

Desirable degree in Project Management or HR Management.

 

Experience

Minimum 7 years’ experience in similar leadership/management positions in a human- itarian organization

 

Excellent interpersonal skills and strong focus on teamwork, inclusion and team devel- opment

 

Proven record in successful management of projects, finance, operations, including safety and security, and personnel, including staff wellbeing and supervision

 

Demonstrated experience working with various levels of authorities, community, local NGOs and other relevant stakeholders

 

Demonstrated experience in planning, implementation, executing and monitoring of project and emergency response programs, experience in phasing out of projects pre- ferred

 

Demonstrated experience in report writing and producing good quality reports for in- ternal and external use, with external use focus on authorities / government reporting

Essential computer literacy (O365 suite and applications) Fluent in spoken and written Indonesian and English


 

Previous national / international experience working with MSF is an asset
