[Internship Program Notice - REPOST] GIZ Indonesia for the Business Hub Indonesia projects: Internship

 The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German implementing organisation which provides services worldwide in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. We work to shape a future worth living in over 120 countries around the world. For more than 40 years, GIZ has been working jointly with partners in Indonesia. Currently, GIZ works with over 300 employees in Indonesia, of whom over 80 per cent are national personnel.

 

Business Hub Indonesia is a project management unit within GIZ Indonesia focusing on private sector cooperation in development initiatives. Current projects under the Business Hub work directly and in cooperation with several private companies. With its main office situated at GIZ Country Office in Jakarta and a regional office in Lampung, it aims at leveraging synergies between the projects, mainstreaming the topic private sector engagement in GIZ Indonesia and enabling business development in the development sector.

 

To provide support in general content-related and managerial issues for the Business Hub, GIZ is currently recruiting one Indonesian candidate for the following position:

 

Internship

 

A.  Responsibilities

 

Supporting the Team of the Business Hub, its Head and individual project teams on organization and communication.

 

In this context, the position holder fulfils the following tasks:

 

B.  Tasks

 

1.   General tasks and organization support

The aim of an internship with the GIZ Business Hub Indonesia / ASEAN is to give the intern an insight into the inner workings of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and its project implementation. The tasks are subject to change depending on the project activities. Thus, the intern will participate in many project activities, not as an observer, but assisting in specific tasks (organization, research, note taking, providing critical feedback, etc.). Soft skills required in that positions include enhanced ability for teamwork, flexibility, organization, initiative, and very good communication skills.

General tasks of the intern encompass:

  • Working closely with and assisting the Head of the Business Hub, as well as with all colleagues in all its seven current projects.
  • Background research related to potential collaboration opportunities.
  • Attending regular and spontaneous meetings: Business Hub Team and project meetings, subject-matter and event specific meetings, etc.
  • Taking meeting minutes (notes, protocols), to be reviewed by the leader of the meeting.
  • Supporting GIZ teams on fieldtrips to visit stakeholders in the target regions, the regional project office in Lampung and surroundings, etc. This includes keeping a field book/record of field trips, taking meeting minutes, taking photos.
  • Attending workshops and conferences and taking notes. and actively network with stakeholders.
  • Supporting Business Hub event organization:

o   Writing invitations, responsible for being contact person for invitees.

o   Keeping updated list of participants.

o   Logistical support (i.e., venue, reimbursements).

 

2.   Support Corporate and Internal Communications

  • Supporting Business Hub PR & Communications Advisor in delivering Business Hub and projects’ information and knowledge materials by requests, both internally and externally
  • Supporting Business Hub contribution to social media content related to project for GIZ’ Indonesia social media accounts

 

C.    Required qualifications, competences, and experience

 

Education

·      Student in a master's degree program in forestry, environment, or other relevant field; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.

 

Skill and knowledge

·      Interest and sufficient knowledge in forestry and environment issues

·       Excellent command in both spoken and written English

·      Good communication and writing skills

·       Excellent command of MS – Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)

·       Experience in literature research and expert interviews

·       Work experience related on peatland or forestry will be advantage

Duty Station: Jakarta

Working Hours: 5 working days per week, 8 working hours per day

Expected Joining Date: August 2021

Internship Duration: 6 months
