The USAID Indonesia Urban Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Penyehatan Lingkungan Untuk Semua (IUWASH PLUS) program is a five year-and-eight months initiative designed to assist the Government of Indonesia (GOI) in increasing access to water supply and sanitation services as well as improving key hygiene behaviors among urban poor and vulnerable populations. USAID IUWASH PLUS works with governmental agencies, the private sector, NGOs, communities and others to achieve the following "high level" results:
1. An increase of 1,100,000 people in urban areas with access to improved water supply service quality, of which at least 500,000 are from the poorest 40% of the population (also referred to as the “Bottom 40%” or “B40”), vulnerable groups or Indonesia’s eastern provinces; and
2. An increase of 500,000 people in urban areas with access to safely managed sanitation.
To ensure that improvements in access to WASH services are sustained, USAID IUWASH PLUS is guided by a development hypothesis that focuses on strengthening service delivery systems, so they can more effectively reach the poorest and most vulnerable segments of the population. In order to achieve this at scale, the program undertakes activities through four interrelated components, including: 1) improving household WASH services; 2) strengthening city WASH institutional performance; 3) strengthening the WASH financing environment; and 4) advancing national WASH advocacy, coordination and communication. In support of these components, USAID IUWASH PLUS also implements a Local Sustainability and Innovation Component (LSIC) that is designed to stimulate WASH innovations that strengthen community, private sector and government WASH service provision.
To achieve these outcomes IUWASH-PLUS need high caliber candidates to fill the position of
Individual Consultant as Moderator for Closing Events in WJDT Regional Office, Jakarta (JOB CODE: FPICA/MCE_JKT)
Objective
The main objective of hiring a moderator is as following details:
- To develop concept talk show and talking point of the closing event of USAID IUWASH Program in Kabupaten Tangerang and concept of sharing session in DKI Jakarta
- To facilitate a sharing session of URBAN STBM and Participatory Monev as field practices in DKI Jakarta and help to develop a feedback from stakeholders to:
a. Strengthen the ‘buy in’ process of good change of WASH program includes of URBAN STBM, Participatory Monev, and collaboration among stakeholders facilitated by USAID IUWASH PLUS and produced by stakeholders at DKI and community level.
b. Encourage a commitment from related stakeholders (Dinas Kesehatan, Private sectors, CSR, University, Puskesmas, Kecamatan, Kelurahan etc) for replication and sustainability of URBAN WASH STBM and Monev Participative through collaboration among partners.
- To facilitate a discussion through Talk Show Mechanism as one of the main session in the closing event of USAID IUWASH Program in Kabupaten Tangerang and help to develop consensus to:
a. Strengthen the 'buy in' process of good change of WASH program includes of URBAN STBM, Participatory Monev, and CEM facilitated by USAID IUWASH PLUS and produced by stakeholders at Kab Tangerang level.
b. Encourage a commitment from related stakeholders (BAPPENAS, DPRD, OPD, Private sectors, MFI, NGO, CBO, Puskesmas, Kecamatan, Desa/Kelurahan) for replication and sustainability of WASH program through Market-based and SMART Subsidy approaches.
Tasks and Responsibility
Under supervision of Regional Manager/ Closing Event Team, the task and responsibilities of the moderator will include, but not limited to the following details:
1. Conduct a discussion and briefing session with the Regional Manager and the team on the general concept of the event : Sharing session in DKI and Talk show in Kabupaten Tangerang
2. Develop concept of sharing session and talk show session and present to the team (develop key question and probing if necessary during the event)
3. Facilitates the Sharing Session in DKI Jakarta and Talk show in Kabupaten Tangerang on above theme base on a concept and rundown as planned and agreed by the USAID IUWASH PLUS team (interactive and engaging participants),
4. Noted important feedbacks from stakeholders/ participants
5. Provide a summary of the discussion and report to the Regional Manager/ Closing Event Team
6. Uploading the main result of these two event in the media social and podcast
Required Qualifications
The candidate should have the following criteria:
1. Five or more years of professional experience as moderator and related public speaking
2. Has well understanding and familiar with related WASH issues/ programs
3. Strong communication skills
4. Nice personality and has facilitation skill (interactive and interesting)
5. Demonstrated ability to note important messages/ feedback from audience/ participants and create a good report.
