Nutrition International (NI) has been implementing high-impact, high-coverage health, and nutrition initiatives for vulnerable communities in Indonesia since 2006. NI's priority objectives in Indonesia include the survival and health of children, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women as well as women of reproductive age, primarily through improved coverage and use of key micronutrients, such as vitamin A, zinc, iron and folic acid as well as wheat flour fortification and iodized salt.
Nutrition International has been supporting the Ministry of Health (MOH), Government of Indonesia in implementing Weekly Iron and Folic Acid (WIFA) supplementation for adolescent girls at school since 2015. Starting from the demonstration project in two districts, the support has been scaled up to cover three provinces (Banten, West Java, and East Nusa Tenggara) to date through various projects from different donor funding. Nutrition International provides electronic-based distance courses at the global platform accessible to as wide community as possible. Among these courses is the Adolescent Nutrition and Anaemia (ANA) course, which has been translated into Indonesian.
Nutrition International is very enthusiastic about providing an understanding of how to support the improvement of adolescent nutrition and wants to promote this series of courses to a wider audience in Nutrition International's work area, including in Indonesia. In addition, Nutrition International hopes that through this online course, adolescent health and nutrition will be increasingly recognized and included in the Asian development agenda.
Nutrition International is planning to conduct a half-day launch event in form of a webinar, inviting stakeholders from national and sub-national level. There will be endorsement from the government, testimonials from users, and presentation from resource persons, following opening speech. Therefore, Nutrition International seeks support of local agency to facilitate conduct of this launching event of the translated online ANA course.
