SurfAid Vacancy: Partnership & Safeguarding Manager

 SurfAid is a non-profit organization which aims to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing. We have community based health and food security programs in Mentawai, Sumba, and Sumbawa islands. 


We are looking for an experienced, resourceful person with a positive “CAN DO” attitude who is able to work independently as our:


 

PARTNERSHIP & SAFEGUARDING MANAGER (PSM)

 


The Partnership & Safeguarding Manager reports to the Country Director and the role consists of two responsibilities which are engaging with local organizations to build mutually beneficial partnerships and managing effective partnerships and also ensuring compliance of safeguarding practices to ensure best outcomes in all our programs and with all our partners.


THE PERSON:

You are a constructive team player, resourceful and creative, and also able to work independently. You are experienced in managing partnership and capacity building of local partners. On the other hand, you have knowledge and understanding on safeguarding principles and crosscutting issues. You have great interpersonal skills so you can establish effective relationships with your colleagues as well as external stakeholders. 



THE QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES:

  • A master’s degree or equivalent experience in a field related to international development or humanitarian assistance.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in managing partnerships and capacity building of local partners.

  • Sound knowledge and experience of implementing safeguarding principles at the organizational level and local partners.

  • Familiar with any of the following cross-cutting issues: child protection, gender, PSEAH, inclusion of people with disabilities, environment, and mainstreaming them in the program activities.

  • Understanding of reporting frameworks.

  • Clear communication in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

  • Analytical skills, strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

  • Multi tasking, creative and resourceful CAN DO ATTITUDE!

  • Approachable, empathetic, and cooperative.

  • Have understanding of cultural aspects of development programs is desirable.
