IFES is seeking an ASEAN Program Advisor to support project implementation in the region. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: The ASEAN Program Advisor will work under the direction of the Jakarta-Based Senior Program Manager and IFES’ HQ Program Manager to provide technical assistance to support IFES’ regional program which strengthens anti-corruption efforts of ASEAN and ASEAN Member States. Specifically, the ASEAN Program Advisor will provide direct technical assistance to the ASEAN Parties Against Corruption (ASEAN-PAC).

 

Scope of Work:

  • Provide advisory support to IFES’ program team in the design and implementation of IFES’ regional anti-corruption program;
  • Provide technical assistance to ASEAN-PAC in areas which could include countering corruption in procurement or licensing;
  • Develop and maintain high-level relationships with government, donors, partners, implementers, and other stakeholders, including anti-corruption institutions and civil society organizations;
  • Represent IFES Indonesia at meetings, including with civil society partners, ASEAN bodies and the donor as needed;  
  • Develop resources on anti-corruption as needed;
  • Contribute to program reporting and monitoring and evaluation, as needed; 
  • Contribute to IFES’ development efforts, diversification and fundraising;
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in political science, international relations, law or related field;
  • At least 7 years or comparable of experience working in an international environment, including experience working on anti-corruption programming;
  • Deep understanding of Southeast Asia political, democratic and corruption trends;
  • Ability to maintain collaborative working relationship with team members, other staff, and IFES’ partners.  Partnerships require a high degree of diplomacy and judgment, with ability to address conflicts or difficulties in a constructive manner. Represent IFES with external contacts at professional and government levels;
  • Exceptional communication skills, including presentation, writing and reporting;
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral;
  • Proficiency in Word, Power point, Outlook and Excel;
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to make independent decisions;
  • Experience working with international NGOs preferred.
