The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Senior Project Associate, Food System to monitor and manage the progress of the Food System Dashboard (FSD) Project in Indonesia. This position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia and will be on 2.5 years’ fixed term contract basis, subject to availability of funding.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Programmes, the Senior Project Associate will be responsible for maintaining all the FSD related technical assistance and implementation activities as defined in the project proposal and work plan.

The Senior Project Associate will be responsible for ensuring that the interventions by different partners are coordinated so that overall project milestones and goals are met. You will oversee financial control and proactively review, make recommendations and report on programmatic activities to support the delivery of GAIN’s strategic plan for FSD Indonesia project.

You will also play a support role as the Country Food Systems focal point, while managing the upcoming Country Food System advocacy work.

Key Responsibilities include;

  • Providing oversight, technical direction and maintaining the project activities implemented under the FSD project, including grant management and support of the FSD Stakeholders Advisory Group
  • Supporting the Food System Senior Policy Advisor in Country Food System advocacy work
  • Working closely with Programme Service Team, Knowledge Leadership and Finance teams to ensure that all project activities are completed according to the project implementation timeframe and budget
  • Managing stakeholders particularly Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, MoH, District Governments, Industry and civil society
  • Establishing and supporting the management of project consultants and vendors, under the supervision of the Country Director and Head of Programmes
  • Ensuring timely submission of high-quality reports, success stories and other documents as per organizational procedure and donor requirements, including managing the QUAD process for the project

About You

The ideal candidate should have proven experience in contributing to the delivery of projects on time and using project management processes and tools ideally within the international development sector. Strong understanding of Indonesia’s public health sector required. Also, candidates with experience of delivering integrated health and/or nutrition programming is highly desirable.

The Senior Associate should have strong communication and writing skills, fluent in English and proficiency in Bahasa. You should be able to work in multi-cultural and multi-lingual environments, preferably in managing local issues in developing countries. You should have clear and systematic thinking that demonstrates good judgment and problem solving skills.

The postholder should be proactive and self-motivated individual capable of engaging persuasively with various stakeholders and a self-starter, who are able to work independently. Experience working in a public/private partnership environment is desirable.

The starting salary on offer for this role is from IDR 262,009,098 – IDR 299,206,492 per annum, depending on experience.
