Overview of the Role:

The Non-Government Sector Collaboration Specialist (under supervision of the Manager of Communication and Partnership Unit) is assigned to

  • develop a key strategy in engaging non-government sector involvement in poverty reduction initiatives in Indonesia
  • coordinate, supervise, facilitate, and strengthen the implementation of the strategy in the advanced phases
  • ensure the expansion and replication of non-government sector support for poverty reduction initiatives in Indonesia
  • engage, the non-government sector, NGOs and philanthropy in order to increase the capacity of TNP2K in poverty alleviation programs and activity

About the Program:
The Government of Australia is supporting the Government of Indonesia under a program called MAHKOTA – Menuju Masyarakat Indonesia Yang Kokoh Sejahtera (Towards a Strong and Prosperous Indonesian Society).  MAHKOTA is a flexible facility administered by Cardno that is able to respond to Government of Indonesia priorities, provide top Indonesian and international expertise, and allow the Government of Indonesia to take risks with innovative policy.

About the Role:
The Non-Government Sector Collaboration Specialist will be required to undertake the following tasks:

  • Undertake rigorous research on analytical and policy matters concerning poverty (including extreme poverty), inequality, targeting, and social protection.
  • Contributes to the formulation of the research agenda for the TNP2K research team.
  • Supervise research activities and maintain the quality of research outputs from the TNP2K research team and other working units.
  • Work with non-government agencies and research institutions for dissemination and implementation of poverty and social protection policies and programs.
  • Provide intellectual leadership and high-quality technical advice on matters related to poverty reduction strategies, poverty measurement and targeting issues and evaluations of key poverty and social protection programs.

Responsibilities and duties:
The Non-Government Sector Collaboration Specialist will provide the following deliverables:

  • A complete key strategy in engaging non-government sector involvement for poverty reduction initiatives in Indonesia
  • A high-level endorsement, and a high-profile promotional event.
  • Model of non-government sector collaboration in poverty reduction related policies developed and implemented
  • Dissemination of the documentation, lessons learnt, good practices and evidence on the tested models of non-government sector collaboration among the relevant key stakeholders.
  • Replication of the tested models of non-government sector collaboration by at least one key government ministry or institution.
  • Support for the expansion of the on-going electricity subsidy reform and LPG subsidy reform, as well as the implementation of renewable energy for the poor initiative

About You:
You will be a motivated and proactive Non-Government Sector Collaboration Specialist with the right combination of talent, energy and commitment to technical excellence.  You will also have:

  • Relevant Master’s Degree
  • Demonstrated analytical & conceptual skills and aptitude for learning the latest scientific/evidence-based approaches to national and regional level poverty reduction strategy and programs and translating them into non-government sector engagement strategy.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Communications and Public Relations field, (preferable: combined with professional background from the non-government and public sector)
  • Extensive experience in working with Government Agencies at the national and local level, especially in dealing with senior management level
  • Technical knowledge and skills in developing and managing high-level publications and communication materials for the public sector (from concept, content development, designing, production and dissemination)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of corporates’ social responsibility in Indonesia
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as in teams on a tight schedule.
  • A strong record of working across organizational boundaries
  • Ability to manage uncertainty and adjust to a changing work program.
  • Fluent in written and spoken both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Willing and able to travel for work
