Vacant Position : Grants Manager

DAI, the contractor for the USAID Mitra Kunci Initiative, commenced implementation of the project in January 2017.

Background:

The Mitra Kunci Initiative is a five-year, $15 million, USAID-funded program that will promote more inclusive economic growth by improving access to workforce and entrepreneurial skills for poor and vulnerable youth. The Mitra Kunci team will provide USAID project implementers and workforce stakeholders with technical support, connections, and platforms to help build a more robust and responsive workforce development ecosystem. In addition to management support, capacity building, and coordination, Mitra Kunci’s technical assistance will include identifying, piloting, and scaling new workforce development approaches and innovations. The ultimate goal of USAID’s inclusive workforce development work is to connect 200,000 poor and vulnerable young Indonesians with learning and livelihood opportunities.

Objectives and Duties:

The Grants Manager is the main point of contact for grant financial, administrative, and operational management. S/he must ensure that grantees meet their obligations and objectives under their respective grants awards and establish and maintain regular reporting and accountability procedures among them as well as develop inter-grantee coordination and collaboration mechanisms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

·       Review grantee proposals and budgets for cost reasonableness and adherence to grant management strategy and policies

·       Prepare, analyze, and evaluate submissions for Requests for Proposals

·       Train local grantees in compliance with USAID assistance regulations, and DAI grant policies and procedures

·       Oversee all aspects of grant award, implementation, monitoring and reporting

·       Ensure Grants and Finance Officer maintains complete and accurate grant management files

·       Support M&E team to coordinate with grantees for all data collection, analysis, and reporting tasks

·       Maintain close collaboration with Advocacy and Partnerships Manager and technical staff for all technical activities and reporting

·       Work with the Grants and Finance Officer to ensure quality, timeliness, and compliance of grant reporting, payments, and reconciliations

·       Other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor


QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Finance or Accounting or equivalent.

·       Minimum 5 years work experience in the grants management field, preferably with USAID projects, UN agencies or NGOs.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·       Experience with Microsoft office suite.

·       Team player with excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills;

·       Work with a high level of self-responsibility, reliability, multitasking and service orientation with good attention to details;

·       Abilities to work under pressure, time sensitive and constantly willing to learn and accept change;

·       Good technical skills in filing management system

·       Fluency in English is required


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       The Grants Manager will supervise the project Grants and Finance Officer.


  BASE OF OPERATIONS

·       This position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia.


 REPORTING

·       The Grants Manager will report directly to the Finance and Administration Manager (FAM).
