MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER – EVENT EXECUTIVE

1 (one) position based in Jakarta CO


ROLE PURPOSE:

Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik (Save the Children Indonesia) is changing for the better.  We've begun to build a national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia.  To this end, SC Indonesia has been designated as a “Member”. As ‘Member’ Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way of new member development, which focusses on strengthening and localizing our voice for children in strategic middle-income countries. Indonesia has been authorized by member ballot to start fundraising locally as a first step towards building a financially sustainable local organization. Future work will also involve developing a strong local governance structure and building key partnerships with local government, the private sector, local civil society among others. Success of the pilot phase will set Indonesia on a pathway to full membership.

This role will work with Marketing and Communications Coordinator and working across the division. The Marketing and Communications Officer – Content Specialist will have key objective:

The role will support Marketing and Communications Coordinator to maximise income generation for Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik by delivering high profile and exciting fundraising events.
The role will support Marketing and Communications Coordinator for marketing and communications activities to maximise opportunities for promoting the charity and build links and existing donors (individual and corporations).
This role requires high communication skills to support Marketing and Communications Coordinator to build relationship with stakeholders for all fundraising activities in order to increase support for Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.


QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or Advertising, Public Relations, Social Work, Social culture study or relevant studies


EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

Degree level qualification in communications, PR, marketing or advertising within 3 years’ experience
Experience in or aptitude for fundraising/generation income will be an advantage
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A proven track record in event management and experience working with stakeholders.
Experience of project managing marketing activities.
Desirable

At least 2 years experiences with marketing and communications field.
Ability to prioritise competing tasks, manage a busy work load, work quickly and deliver to deadline.
Good track record of building positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines.
Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies.
A full appreciation of the value of co-operation, both internationally and within a team environment.
Understand Save the Children vision and mission and a commitment to its objectives, values and essential standards.
Written and verbal fluency in English and Indonesian.
