KOMPAK Program
KOMPAK is an Australia-Indonesia government partnership supporting the Government of Indonesia's efforts in reducing poverty through improvements in basic service delivery and creating opportunities for work. KOMPAK focuses its efforts on three result areas:
- Supporting Local Governments and Service Units to better address the needs of basic service users;
- Supporting the poor and vulnerable to benefit from improved village governance; and
- Supporting the poor and vulnerable to benefit from increased opportunities for employment and economic development.
The Opportunity
The Village Monograph Digitalization Researcher will provide support to the Lead Researcher in conducting an assessment on the pilot implementation of DMD/K. You will report to the Research and Evaluation Lead, work intensively with the Lead Researcher and another research consultants, the Research and Evaluation Team and related government partners.
Key Duties
The Village Monograph Digitalization Researcher will be expected to:
- Work with the Lead Researcher and another research consultant to implement the study, including the development and finalization of study design and data collection tools.
- Collect secondary and primary data and information through desk review, key informant interview, group discussion and other methods in selected pilot locations.
- Analyse data collection findings in reference to the study concept and scientific research standard.
- Prepare field findings report and work with the Lead Evaluator and other research consultant to develop the draft and final report, ready to publish by KOMPAK.
- Develop high-level presentation materials and be the main source-person in the DMD/K evaluation (plan and results) to KOMPAK, DFAT and/or Government of Indonesia counterparts, as necessary.
- Ensure that all deliverables are submitted in a timely manner and of high quality.
- Provide on-going advice to the team as required.

Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in social science, including Political Science and Communication or other relevant fields.
- More than 8 years of experience in conducting studies related to local and village governance, some of those relate to the use of data for policy making in Indonesia and e-governance. Relevant experiences on social protection is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge on system, data and public policy at the subnational level.
- Proven ability to write study reports and/or policy briefs (as shown by report sample).
- Demonstrated capacity to work in a team, and also to work autonomously.
- Understanding of gender equality and social inclusion issues.
