As we are constantly expanding, we are currently hiring to fill the following position for our office in Jakarta:

 

Communications Director

(Code: COMS_D)

 

 

Konservasi Indonesia is hiring Communications Director to develop and support the implementation of Konservasi Indonesia’s communications strategy and achieve the program’s communications goals.

The Communication Director will represent the organization externally and works with other Directors/Managers to develop strong relationships with prospects and existing stakeholders. This role involves creating public relations and managing the media efforts and communication materials produced by the communications team. This role also involves tracking and reporting analytics on marketing and communications campaigns and promotional events. 

S/he is responsible for aligning Konservasi Indonesia’s brand across field offices with the guidance of the global and regional communications team. S/he will be responsible managing key events, donor cultivation and media engagement.

This position reports to Chair of Board of Management and requires working closely with Program Directors/Managers and program communications personnel.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.       National Communications:

·       Advise the strategic design, approach, and messages to programmatic communications plan at district to Province level, to be align with Konservasi Indonesia’s communications strategy and general framework; track, monitor, and evaluate the progress and the effectiveness of communication strategy/plan

·       Amplify programmatic initiatives and achievements to the national level via various communications channels.

·       Develop and implement national communications strategy to support the program goals, as well as support the achievements of programmatic objectives at national level for changes in policy or behaviour — in alignment with each program;

·       Manage important events at the national level, mainly for program amplification and donor cultivation with APFD and HQ communications team in national to international amplification efforts, such as joint communications activities or delivering programmatic/institutional messages to international audiences.

 

2.       Media Strategy and Engagement:

·       Create and ensure the effective implementation of media and social media plans based on the national communications strategy to reach the focused target audiences

·       Review press releases, key messaging and other media material as required

·       Develop and maintain strong media relationships with national and international media representatives.

·       Proactively promote stories or media placement to reach the target audiences.

 

3.       Fundraising Support: 

·       Improve the quality of concept notes or proposals by providing compelling stories, facts, photos or video;

·       Advise the program team on key messages or communications approaches to boost fundraising efforts;

·       Involved in the production process for documentation on lessons learned and best practices across the organization.

 

  ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Assist in preparing presentations for team meetings and external workshops, including presentations to community groups, government agencies, or private sector partner audiences. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·       Bachelor’s degree and more than 8 years of experience in communication or related field.

·       Demonstrated strategic communications and brand alignment abilities in non-profits, with objectives of promoting behaviour change, changes in public policy, and fundraising;

·       Fast learner who can digest conservation initiatives/programmatic concepts/approach.

·       Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills

·       Ability to simplify complex ideas into simple language, especially scientific findings, approach, or innovation in conservation, and effectively present information to government officials, funding organization, public groups, and/or boards of directors;

·       A good command of both Bahasa Indonesia and English, with proven presentation, writing and editing skills in both languages;

·       Strong research, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced and complex environment.

·       An ability to work in a team and create communications strategies that are effective at reaching the program’s target audiences.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

·       Ability to work under pressure for multiple deadlines at the short time notice;

·       A combination of experiences working in various sectors is preferred for having good sense of understanding on different stakeholders’ perspectives and interests
