SAVU SEA PROGRAM SUPPORT OFFICER


The Program Support Officer responsible to support program implementations i.e. reservation for meeting, provides administration including arrangement for FCPA documents, etc. as necessary. S/he also documented all activity reports from staff and partners/consultants. S/he provides a full range of high-level administrative by preparing correspondence and materials, handling domestic and international travel arrangements.
The Program Support Officer provide assistance with planning and executing special events like workshop, trainings and VIP trips as organized by the Savu Sea Program, including identifying/contacting participants and helping budgeting. S/he responsible for maintaining the Savu Sea Program central filing, library and other program support tools (image, database, etc.) and is the initial point-of-contact all questions on file management, correspondence preparation and control.
The Program Support Officer is also responsible for day to day office management related tasks on services and activities including the use of meeting room(s) which includes but not limited to planning and scheduling, the availability of the related meeting facilities and equipment; monitor the use of office/rent vehicles; logistic and procurements including purchasing requests of office supplies, office equipment maintenance, telephone and general office duties. This position includes frequent interaction with all members within the organization as well as partners, quests, vendors and business relations. S/he supervises direct operations/admin/household staff from the outsourcing company.
This position is also responsible to support routine administration tasks as related to finance and human resources within Savu Sea Office operations. S/he ensure that supporting documents for all Savu Sea office direct payments both from Bank and Petty Cash are complete and adequate. S/he may perform other clerical duties related to accounting tasks/functions as necessary and ensure expenditures are properly charged on a regular basis to partner in accordance with the agreed workplan.
The Program Support Officer for the Savu Sea Program is based in Kupang and reports to the Aquaculture Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-year experience or equivalent combination;
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading;
  • Experience organizing time and managing diverse activities to meet deadlines;
  • Experience performing one or more administrative processes; and
  • Experience working and communicating with a wide range of people.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST FOR SIGAP ALLIANCE 
The Community Development Specialist is responsible for engaging and supporting communities in natural resource management. S/he uses the full range of participatory methods, tools, and processes to meaningfully engage communities in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program. S/he provides administrative and project management support and other general assistance to program staff and consultants working towards the achievement of social objectives, conservation, or stewardship goals.
These may include one or more of the following functions:
  • Together with his/her supervisor and other team members, develops and implements conservation strategies, community engagement strategies and institutional best practice that suits with local community
  • Support the development of innovative scientific methods, analyses, tools, and frameworks to meaningfully engage communities in development and natural resource management initiatives
  • Facilitate communities in their initiatives to take part in natural resource management, climate change mitigation, livelihood development, etc.
  • Build and strengthen local institutions (community groups, village leaders, etc.) in administration, financial management, and other strategic and technical areas
  • Help link communities and village government with government agencies at the different levels, private companies, NGOs, etc.
  • Coordinate and help build the capacity of local NGO partners, as needed
  • Collect, document and analyze various types of data and information through focus group discussions, key informant interviews, household survey, etc.
  • Provide technical and logistical support during field trips, etc.  
This position reports directly to the Community Engagement & Protected Area Manager and will be based in Berau District, East Kalimantan and indirectly reports to the Associate Director of Development for Corporate Practice.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS, law or business degree and 5 years’ experience in natural resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements. 
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally.
  • Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web Browsers.                
  • Experience with principles of land acquisition.
  • Experience in training and curriculum design.
