Yayasan Nurani Luhur Masyarakat (YNLM) is a non-profit organization engaged in community development in collaboration with the government, community and related organizations. Currently, YNLM is conducting a community development project for People With Mental Disability (ODGJ) in Medan. In order to support this program, YNLM requires:
FIELD OFFICER (FO)
Medan
RESPONSIBILITY AND TASK
1. Assistance for People With Mental Disability (PWMD) in the project assisted areas, Caregivers, and mental health cadres
2. Responsible for implementing training/capacity building for mental health cadres
3. Responsible for conducting campaigns and counseling about mental health in the community to reduce stigma against PWMD
4. Build networks and coordination with cross-sectors in developing community-based rehabilitation programs for PWMD
5. Coordinate with the Health Office, Public Health Center, and local government and communities in developing and conducting activities to support the recovery process for PWMD
6. Coordinate with the program coordinator in designing the log frame, budget, timeline, and program monitoring & evaluation
7. Make weekly and monthly work reports to the project coordinator
8. Doing daily administrative work from the field, such as making weekly expense reports, making minutes of meetings, documenting activities from the field and reporting to the project coordinator.
9. Build and maintain good relations and coordination with local government and non-government and stakeholders.
EXPERIENCE
1. Have experience in empowering and organizing in the community
2. Have experience in mental health services in hospitals and in the community
3. Experience in Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR)/community based rehabilitation
4. Have the ability to plan, manage and implement community empowerment programs
5. Experience in preparing and holding meetings/trainings/workshops/ and FGDs with all levels of stakeholders
COURSES/SEMINARS/TRAINING/OTHER SUPPORTING SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Community development, Project Cycle management
2. Able to do Coaching
3. Skilled in doing Advocacy
4. Community Base Rehabilitation (CBR)
5. Knowledge of the recovery process of People With Mental Disabilities (PWMD),
6. Knowledge of mental health or relevant
7. Integrity, responsible, honest, and have high loyalty at work
8. Able to work independently with minimal supervision, have good communication skills, and work with a team
9. Most significant change (MSC)
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
1. Able to build networks with partners in community empowerment programs with the private sector, NGOs, and the government
2. Have the ability and experience in conducting advocacy
3. Have the ability to cooperate with the community and government
4. Having meeting and training facilities
5. Knowledge of mental health policies and programs
6. Communicative, Innovative, Creative & Initiative
7. Willing to live in the home base of the project assisted area.
